Born on January 9, 2002, in Konongo-Zongo, Ashanti Region, Ghana, Black Sherif was raised in a culturally rich environment. With his parents working overseas, he lived with his aunt and extended family from the age of 10, exposing him to diverse cultural influences. He completed his basic education at Konongo Zongo Islamic Basic School and Pinamang Educational Complex. For his secondary education, he attended Kumasi Academy, where he developed an interest in music and dance as a member of the Literary Group. He later pursued studies at the University of Professional Studies and, as of October 2022, was enrolled at the University of Ghana.

Career

Black Sherif’s musical journey began in 2019, but he gained significant attention in 2021 with his song “First Sermon,” followed by “Second Sermon” in July 2021. His breakthrough came in March 2022 with the single “Kwaku the Traveller,” which topped both Ghanaian and Nigerian Apple Music charts. In October 2022, he released his debut album, The Villain I Never Was, further establishing his presence in the music industry.
