Omoni Oboli was born on April 22, 1978, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. She hails from Mosogar, a village in Delta State. She completed her primary and secondary education in Benin City before proceeding to the University of Benin, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in French (Second Class Upper Division).
To further her education in filmmaking, she attended the New York Film Academy, where she studied digital editing in an intensive four-week workshop.
Career
Omoni Oboli began her acting career in 1996, making her debut in the movie Bitter Encounter, where she played the role of a secretary. She followed this with roles in Shame, Not My Will, Destined to Die, and Another Campus Tale. However, after a brief stint in Nollywood, she took a break from acting to focus on completing her university education and starting a family.
In 2009, she made a comeback to Nollywood, realizing that the industry had evolved significantly during her hiatus. This led her to venture into movie production. Omoni has written, produced, and directed several successful films, including:

Despite this legal battle, Okafor’s Law was eventually released on March 31, 2017.
