Tiwatope Savage, professionally known as Tiwa Savage, was born on February 5, 1980, in Isale-Eko, Lagos State, Nigeria. She spent her early years in Lagos before relocating to London, United Kingdom, at the age of 11.

Tiwa Savage pursued higher education at the University of Kent, where she earned a degree in Accounting. However, her passion for music led her to further her education at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, from which she graduated in 2007 with a degree in Professional Music.

Tiwa Savage began her music career at 16, providing backup vocals for renowned artists such as Chaka Khan, Blu Cantrell, Emma Bunton, Kelly Clarkson, Andrea Bocelli, and Ms. Dynamite. In 2009, she secured a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which allowed her to write songs for several top international artists, including Babyface, Kat Deluna, Fantasia, Monica, and Mýa. Her songwriting skills earned her critical acclaim, further solidifying her place in the music industry.
